El Corazon Senior Center, the first facility on the El Corazon property, is coming to completion. The facility is approximately 12,000 square feet and includes classroom/meeting rooms, a multi-purpose room, kitchen space, fitness room, lobby and resource area, a beautiful courtyard and office space.

The building’s Charles Moore/Irving Gill inspired design was the concept of Roesling Nakamura Terrada, Inc. and provides a functional and beautiful setting that invites the outdoors in.

The interior corridors are encased by large expanses of windows with a view to the tranquil courtyard which sets the perfect backdrop for an elegant, day or evening occasion.

The El Corazon Senior Center is so much more than what you might think of as a "SENIOR"-serving center. It is a place for 55 and over to enjoy health and wellness with those who share similar interests. It is for those adults who wish to achieve and or maintain a quality of life that they have longed for when they envisioned retirement. It is for the working adult and the retired person too. Nestled in the "heart" of the City, at El Corazon, it is a place of vibrant energy just right for YOUR Lifestyle!

Start your day!
Wake up, roll out of bed and come to the ECSC for your daily dose of movement! A.M. fitness classes will be scheduled to fit with your work and leisure schedule.

Stop by for lunch!
The ECSC Marketplace will offer affordable "café-style" fare from late morning to early afternoon. Pop by to eat, socialize in the reading lounge or check your email at the cyber-café. Attend the monthly "Lunch and Lecture" series, offering health and well-being information and lunch packed into a quick 45-minute format that will get you back to work on time. (This program is not restricted by age, although topics will be generally be geared to 55 and up.)

Get fit!
A fully-outfitted, 900-sq.-ft. fitness center will be open daily to work with both the working and retired member. Memberships are affordable and qualify you for discounts on many other services and program at the center.

Room for your hobbies!
Pick up a new hobby or perfect one you already have. Many multi-media creative arts and specialty classes and services as well as a variety of free drop-in programs will let you fill your day (or just lunch hour) with fun.

"Workrooms" will offer something for everyone. No room to spread out your scrapbooking, sewing, quilting or other "material-heavy" projects at home? The ECSC will have "workroom" hours where you can drop-in, meet friends who share the same passion, and work on projects with plenty of space.

Grand Opening June 6th!
With the hard work by the General Contractor, Jaynes Corp. and construction oversight by Dudek Construction Management, the project will come to a close in mid to late spring. The facility opens to the public on June 6, 2009 with a Official Ribbon Cutting and Grand Opening Celebration.
