Surfin’ Safari Fundraiser
Women’s Resource Center’s 28th annual Magical Evening will be held on Friday, September 5, from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the home of Bebe and Rusty Grosse in Carlsbad. This year’s event "Surfin’ Safari" will feature samplings of a wide variety of foods, wines and micro-brews. A spectacular silent auction will be the highlight of the evening and music from the fabulous Beach Boys’ era will add to the fun! Tickets are $60 in advance and $75 at the door. NCAAWA 14th Annual Gentlemen's Gourmet
Male Chefs Needed for Fundraiser
North County African American Women's Association invites amateur and professional male chefs to participate in our 14th annual Gentlemen's Gourmet.  This year's event will be held on Saturday, September 27, at 6:00 pm at MiraCosta College, Oceanside.  This competitive community event allows the guests the opportunity to sample different cuisines prepared and served by participating chefs.  Trophies and monetary awards will be presented to the best overall chef in the professional and amateur categories.  The funds raised from this event are used to grant scholarships to girls and women pursuing higher education and/or job training.  A Chef's application or tickets to attend the event may be obtained by calling (760) 529-0875 or online at www.ncaawa.org. Tickets are $35.00 each.
