2008 All Sides of Oceanside Photo Contest

People in Action
Show us people in Oceanside; downtown, at the beach, at community events, at night, during the day and at local landmarks. Show people hard at work, hard at play or enjoying the surf or dancing the night away. Show people and show them in action in Oceanside and you may be one of more than 20 prizewinners.
Categories:
At the Beach: On the water, at the Beach or Harbor
Downtown: From Wisconsin to the Harbor, from Pacific to I-5.
At Night: Between the hours of dusk and dawn.
At the Fiesta: Any celebration: harbor Days, weddings, birthdays, neighborhood festivals, powwows, picnics, etc.
At Local Landmarks: Commonly accepted Oceanside landmarks, including, but not limited to, the Pier, Civic Center, Harbor and Marina, heritage Park, Mission San Luis Rey.
Photo Contest Rules
1. The theme of this year's contest is "People in Action." Judges will look for originality, composition, and photographs that depict the best of Oceanside. Decisions by the judges are final.
2. Only one entry, per person, per category. Photos must have been taken by entrant between December 1, 2007 and October 30, 2008.
3. Submitting photographs: Unframed, un-mounted black and white or color photograph (between 3x5 - 8x10) with an entry form affixed to the back. Photos will not be judged unless the entry form is complete.
4. Submitting digital images: Digital images must be minimum 300 dpi, in .jpeg format (not compressed for emailing – maximum of 4MB), one photo per e-mail. All information from the entry form must be included in each e-mail. E-mail entries to omag@ci.oceanside.ca.us with "Photo Contest" in the subject line. A reply e-mail will confirm receipt of your image. Digital images will not be judged unless all information requested on the entry form has been included in the e-mail.
5. Photographic entries must be postmarked by October 30, 2008, or delivered to Oceanside Magazine, 300 North Coast Highway, Oceanside, CA 92054 by 4:30 pm, October 30, 2008. Digital images must be received by 4:30 pm on October 30, 2008.
6. All entries become the property of Oceanside Magazine and the City of Oceanside, which reserve the right to reject any entry or use any entry for future promotions or publications without compensation other than awarded prizes for winning entries. Entries cannot be returned and Oceanside Magazine and the City of Oceanside assumes no responsibility for submitted photographs.
7. Winners will be announced in the Winter 2008 edition of Oceanside Magazine.
