SPECIAL EVENTS
At the Oceanside Public Library! Beginning on June 14th, your children can register for the Summer Reading Program. This year, the theme is "Catch the Reading Bug!" This program is excellent for motivating your children to read and develop positive attitudes about reading and the library. Reading throughout summer vacation will also help them maintain their reading skills for returning to school in the fall. And there will be plenty of excitement and fun to enjoy at the library, so see you there! For more information, please call 435-5600 and ask for the Children’s Desk.
Bug Me! Tunes and Tales with Nancy Saint John For children of all ages
Nancy Saint John has sung professionally since her own childhood, and has appeared in concerts and on national television. Her performances for children are highly interactive, with every song and story involving great amounts of audience participation, ensuring that the children are the real stars. Saint John plays guitar and provides a basket of musical instruments so youngsters can join her on stage as members of the "band." Pencil Bugs! Invent your own new business! For children of all ages
12-year-old entrepreneur Jason O’Neill was recently named by Forbes.com to its first-ever "10 Role Models 18 and Under" list. Jason is not your typical 12-year-old. Young Entrepreneurs of America created a new category for those under 16 years of age for its Young Entrepreneurs of the Year, just so they could give Jason that award! He has been on several TV, radio and Internet programs, as well as speaking locally.
